I don't ever post about politics, but it seems at times I feel tugged upon to share a view on it.
My idea for the debates - have all candidates that are gaining momentum talk, if the rate and delivery of speaking incite heresay, anger, mindless chatter - their mics cut out, muting them. All of the media coverage is causing this feeling of stirring up emotions, therefore blocking our inborn intelligence to hear about these topics. Fear is overruling these topics/events, rather than our other approach should be: Love. My definition of Love in this way is to say we should put our egos aside, talk about topics, and leave hateful words out of it. Respect the decisions and views of others while still being aware of our own. We get nowhere towards positive change when we come into the debates with an ego-fulfilling agenda.
Clear, mindful, aware, conversations about all issues that will be changed/modified/solidified when they are in office. Not just topics of hate, but of peace. Not just hot button things to get ratings/views/shares, but having a logical and methodical process talking about this upcoming change.
Now some will say this is impossible, but I am the type of person to put Faith out there and say this: think about how crazy the world is being right now and how it is being shown to us. We could use a little moment of rationality when it comes to choosing the next elected leader of America.
Change is inevitable, and I think it is right and fair that we all get to see and hear the real/unedited sides of those individuals wanting to run for President.
